“The Publix Marathon was the first marathon I’ve ever run, and I’m happy that I was able to support a great cause through the Mark A. Jardina Foundation while completing a personal goal,” states Adrian Alonso, an IBM Specialist at CentricsIT. “The energy was contagious, and the support helped to keep motivated.”
The Mark A. Jardina foundation was started by Mark Jardina’s wife Joanna after his sudden passing September 15, 2011. This foundation is driven by the idea of maintaining and promoting a healthy, vibrant lifestyle for children and adults. The charity’s first public appearance was the Publix Georgia Marathon in 2012, so the annual event is special to its founders and members. CentricsIT Vice President, Cameron James knew Mark Jardina personally and encouraged CentricsIT employees to support teaming with the foundation for runs this past Sunday.
Centrics Cares was launched in 2012 as the company-sponsored charitable initiatives program of CentricsIT. Since the company’s inception in 2007, it has supported numerous charities and wanted to establish an outlet for future philanthropic ventures. The marathon was the first event of the year for Centrics Cares, and future initiatives will be communicated through the CentricsIT blog and social media outlets.
