Here at CentricsIT, we are your IT experts. When any IT maintenance issue arises in your data center, we are here to help. If there is an error code you can’t fix, let us assist you in our monthly FixIT column. This month, we’re focusing on the Dell Error RRDU0002 on Dell R710, R810, R910 Servers.
This error occurs when 2nd SD card is installed. The error points to a faulty SD card; but could be caused by implementation or configuration errors.
Installing SD cards:
Even though the servers come with 3 SD card slots, the one in the rear is for the iDrac vFlash Feature. The other 2 slots are for the Standalone SD cards.
Setup:
Setup needs to be done in the Bios. You will have two options: Disabled, meaning Single SD mode, or Mirror Mode, for redundant SD mode.
If the case is non-redundant, SD1 is the master even if SD2 is populated.
You may be prompted to rebuild the SD card if it has been replaced so go ahead and initiate this by selecting “yes”. If the error continues, set server to factory defaults and then configure Bios.
