ATLANTA, December 1, 2018 – CentricsIT teamed up with the Salvation Army to spread joy to children in need during the holiday season. The Angel Tree is an annual holiday tradition organized by the Salvation Army with hopes to enable all families to experience the joy of Christmas. The organization partners with local volunteers to collect gifts for the families in need during the holiday season.
CentricsIT displayed a Christmas Tree with 25 “Angel Tree Tags” in its office. Each tag provided the information of a child or senior in need as well as a list of items that they wished to receive for Christmas. Employees were encouraged to adopt an “angel” and donate an item to them.
The Salvation Army provides bins at each office participating to collect the items. In addition to collecting these items, volunteers from CentricsIT were also sent to sort toys at the Salvation Army centers in Lawrenceville during the first week of December.
CentricsIT participated in the Salvation Army Toy Drive during the holiday season as well. The Salvation Army wants every boy and girl to receive that special toy on Christmas morning, so the toy drives help fill that void.
“Collecting toys for the Salvation is a tradition that we look forward to every year at CentricsIT,” said Taylor Barnes, Vice President of Global Business Development. “Knowing that donating a toy can make a difference for a child during the holiday season is a great way to give back during this season of giving, and I look forward to continuing our work with the Salvation Army in the future.”
The Salvation Army serves nearly 20,000 children around the world whose families struggle during the holiday season. CentricsIT seeks to help the holiday season become a little bit easier for these children and their families through their volunteer efforts.
