The Susan G. Komen 3-Day®: 3 Days. 60 Miles. To End Breast Cancer.
ATLANTA, October 20, 2015 — CentricsIT offered a generous donation to the Susan G. Komen fundraiser, an annual event that raised over $2.2 million this year. In 1980, Nancy G. Brinker promised her dying sister, Susan, that she would do everything in her power to end breast cancer forever. In 1982, that promise became the Susan G. Komen organization and the beginning of a global movement. Every year, CentricsIT former engineer, Arthur Drew, walks 60 miles in memory of his sister, Ruthie, who lost her battle with breast cancer in 2008.
The Susan G. Komen 3-Day® is a 60-mile walk over the course of three days. Net proceeds help support research, scientific programs and community-based breast health and education programs for women and men facing breast cancer. This is an amazing journey in the fight to end breast cancer. CentricsIT contributed a total of $1,370, which represented 54% of Arthur’s total. In total, the 2015 Susan G. Komen 3-Day® raised over $2.2 million. Thank you to everyone who donated! Your fundraising benefits Susan G. Komen®, the world’s largest breast cancer organization, to end breast cancer, FOREVER.
