At CentricsIT, we are your IT experts. We are here to help with any IT issue that arises in your data center. If there is an error code that you can’t fix, we can help in our monthly FixIT column. This month, we’re tackling the HP Error Code BPS_FAIL_FANFLT.
Error Code:
BPS_FAIL_FANFLT
Explanation:
A fan has failed in the machine’s designated bulk power supply. This HP error code is classified as a Major Warning and can be found most commonly in the HP chassis hardware monitor. It is a very serious error that must be resolved quickly.
Cause:
Error Code BPS FAIL FANFLT is primarily caused by a fan failure or obstruction of the fan.
FixIT:
We first recommend checking to see if the fan is obstructed. If so, remove the obstruction. If there is no obstruction, check all your power supplies for damaged amber LEDs, which may need to be serviced (the error will typically list the power supply along with the issue). If this does not resolve the problem, you may want to check to see if a power cable or source has been removed.
