How We See IT: Nexus 5548UP
In today’s changing data center, the need for 10 Gigabit Ethernet and consolidated I/O is ever-increasing. If you require switches that can adapt to your evolving environment and deliver top performance, the Cisco Nexus 5548UP Switch is your answer.
Scalable and Flexible Operation
Perhaps the Cisco Nexus 5548UP’s greatest asset is its unparalleled flexibility. These switches offer the option of front-to-back or back-to-front cooling and copper or fiber access ports so that you can customize the configuration of your equipment to suit your unique data center needs. They offer the ability to connect straight to servers using 10GBASE-T connections or fiber with enhanced Small Form-Factor Pluggable (SFP+) transceivers. The Nexus 5548UP supports multiple traffic classes over a lossless Ethernet fabric allowing you to consolidate your environments. In-rack cabling with these switches is a snap, and they integrate with CAN adapters to unify your network fabric and align it with existing OS drivers, management infrastructure and existing practices.
Low Latency
The Cisco Nexus 5548UP supports a set of network technologies called Data Center Bridging (DCB) that increases the efficiency and reliability of your Ethernet networks. It features cut-through technology and data ports in the back of the unit. The closer proximity to your servers simplifies cabling and decreases latency. The cut-through technology supports 10 Gigabit Ethernet on all the ports while maintaining a low latency regardless of workload required.
