Juniper announced the end of Next Day Support for SRX240H2 and SRX650 on May 1, 2020−soon to be followed by End-of-Support (EOS) for SRX240H2 and SRX650 in the fall of 2020. With OEM supply lines dried up during the current crisis, companies are unable to refresh their critical Juniper equipment before support is lost.
However, while OEM lead times are so far out that many don’t even have shipment dates, companies aren’t out of options.
With the OEMs still maintaining EOS dates announced before the current pandemic and subsequent economic slowdown, companies still have to scramble to find a solution for their Juniper hardware, even with OEMs unable to provide a timeline for the arrival of new equipment. Organizations can’t afford to drop support, so what are their options?
Option #1: Going without Next Day Support
Companies can hold out hope that the OEM supply chain will ramp back up and start meeting the high demand for new hardware, going without the next day support in the meantime.
Unfortunately, this means that when your critical hardware goes down, you have a longer wait-time until a support engineer can come out onsite to get your equipment back up and running. Companies using this method gamble on their Juniper SRX240H2 AND SRX650 hardware not experiencing any issues until they’re able to replace the devices.
This leaves companies vulnerable. Downtime is already costly, but in an economic climate where every productive minute matter towards your bottom line, sheer hope is not enough to keep your business running.
Option #2: Turning to Channel Alternatives for Support for EOS Juniper SRX240H2 AND SRX650
It’s likely that you find your EOS SRX240H2 AND SRX650 hardware still effective and efficient. So, why would you decommission expensive equipment you’ve already invested heavily in before you’re ready to?
Major companies are relying on third-party maintenance (TPM) to keep their hardware supported as they plan out their next refresh−whether it’s in a few months or a few years. The companies that do turn to TPM providers typically experience the same quality of support, if not an increase due to better SLAs and terms.
TPM enables companies to break free from the OEM forced refresh cycle, and companies save 40–70% on support costs over the OEM. During these uncertain economic times, the more IT leaders can save on OPEX, the more they have for more strategic initiatives−and the less they need to worry about their sustainability.

Option #3: Turning to Channel Alternatives to Replace Your Juniper SRX240H2 AND SRX650 Hardware
The OEM supply chain is crumbling−but the secondary market is thriving. More companies are turning to this channel alternative approach to hardware procurement to quickly acquire the hardware they need and to save money.
The myth that secondary market hardware is filled with outdated equipment has long been disproven. The independent status of secondary resellers means that you’re no longer tied to OEM discount categories, giving your company access to the global marketplace and the best possible pricing.
Independent global distributors carry everything from legacy equipment, to N-1, to the latest and greatest equipment released by the manufacturers. That means companies can quickly refresh their data centers and replace equipment like Juniper SRX240H2 AND SRX650, if that’s their goal−or they can gain access to a global supply of replacement parts and engineering expertise to support their current equipment.
